| NOTICE: New version of the Configuration program is available. (April 2004) |

| What are the Media Support Files? |
The Mastering CNC Lathes Online (MCLO), Mastering CNC Machining Centers (MCMO), and Precision Measurement for Machinists (PMMO) training programs make extensive use of large media files such as
streaming audio and video, to increase the impact and effectiveness of the training. We can provide you with media files and programs to allow use of the CNCMaster Online training, or to view the online samples, through a slow Internet connection such as a dialup modem, instead of a fast connection. This is accomplished by having the digital video and audio files on the local computer instead of downloading them through the Internet connection. |
| How can I obtain the Media Support Files? |
Contact MasterTask Training Systems. We will send a CD-ROM disc with the MCLO, MCMO, and/or PMMO Media Support Files to any customer of our online training, or if you are interested in viewing our online training samples. |
| I have a broadband Internet connection. I don't need the Media Support Files, right? |
Even if a fast Internet connection is available, it may still make sense to use Media Support Files provided on this disc. Storing the media files on the local hard drive will usually provide a faster, smoother response from the program than even a fast Internet connection. Using the Media Support Files also cuts down network bandwidth usage and traffic, which may be even more important when accessing the Internet through a LAN with multiple users. |
| How Do I Install the Media Support Files for MCLO, MCMO, and/or PMMO? |
On the CD-ROM disc which we send there is a Read Me file which explains the installation process. Also, generous help
is given on each screen of the Configuration program. The Configuration program leads you
step-by-step preparing your computer for taking the online training or for viewing the online samples. Online instructions for installing the Media Support Files are now available. To see step-by-step instructions on how to install the Media Support Files can be found here (v3.1 and lower - available before 2/06) or here (v3.2 and higher - available after 2/06). |
| How dow I know if my computer is using the Media Support Files? |
When viewing the instruction, it will state the words "media: local" if the application is using the multimedia files from your computer. It will state the words "media: online" if the application is downloading the multimedia files from the Internet. Click here to see where the application states whether it is using the mulimedia files from your computer or the Internet. |
| I want to re-configure the Media Support Files on this computer but can't find the disc. |
For instructions and a download link
for the Configuration program, click here.
Download is approximately 2.7 mb. NOTE: This download DOES NOT provide the actual Media Files, it simply allows you to change the configuration of your computer. For example, if you already have the media files installed and want to move them to a different folder. |
